YOGA WITH SEEMA
"The mind is everything; what you think, you become." - Buddha
MEET SEEMA
I am a citizen of the world, an expat wife, a mum of two, a passionate yoga teacher and a lifelong learner. I have lived in India, UK and Singapore and travelled to many places across the globe.
Yoga is a big part of my life. My relationship with yoga started as a child when I was first introduced to it at the Aurobindo Ashram in Delhi. My understanding of the classical heritage of yoga is infused with contemporary insights and in uniquely embracing both the Eastern and Western cultures has shaped my teaching.
I have always been fascinated by the human mind and behaviour. My degree in Psychology enables me to gain a good insight into it. I also studied fashion and love the creativity involved, although I discovered very early on in my brief fashion career that the fashion industry was not for me! I still have a weak spot for beautiful clothes, shoes and style. As a former classical dancer, my yoga classes flow with grace and cultivate mindfulness.
My classes are designed for total wellness, with an equal emphasis on being physically challenging whilst fostering spiritual growth and mindfulness. I have had extensive press coverage in the UK, having been featured twice on the cover of Yoga and Health Magazine, where I was a regular columnist for over 2 years. I have also been featured in other publications such as Chester Living, Chester Chronicle, Evening Leader, Chester and North Wales Tribune, Cheshire Life, Asia Lite etc to name a few.
When I’m not on the mat, I love to spend time with my family and friends, travel, explore new places, discover new things, cook, read, write and learn about history and culture.
